ENGINE MAINTENANCE
SERVICES

From spark plugs and serpentine belts to radiator fluid exchanges, Jiffy Lube® can help maintain your engine’s optimal performance, reliability and longevity.

A/C EVACUATION AND RECHARGE

A vehicle without cool air conditioning can be a sweaty and uncomfortable ride. A properly working A/C keeps you and everyone else in the vehicle comfortable and cool all the way to your destination.

WHAT WE DO:

Jiffy Lube® visually inspects the air conditioning compressor drive belt, serpentine belt and all accessible components for cracks, leaks and damage. Then the team checks the operation of the air conditioning compressor. If no leaks or damage are found, they evacuate the refrigerant from the system, vacuum test and recharge the air conditioning system using the appropriate refrigerant according to your vehicle manufacturer’s specification.

Jiffy Lube® does not recommend servicing systems with detected leaks or damage. The Jiffy Lube® A/C evacuation and recharge is designed for periodic maintenance rather than A/C repair, but rest assured that Jiffy Lube® can recommend the next steps to be taken to get you’re A/C system up and running.

HOW IT WORKS:

Your vehicle’s air conditioning system, or A/C, cools and removes moisture from the air inside of your vehicle using three main components: the compressor, the condenser and the evaporator.

The compressor, driven by the vehicle’s drive belt, pumps the refrigerant through the A/C system. Inside this closed system, the refrigerant is exposed to high and low pressure, forcing it to change states between gas and liquid in order to capture and then release heat. While in a gas state, the refrigerant passes through the evaporator, capturing heat. The refrigerant then moves through the A/C lines and into the condenser, where the refrigerant cools as heat is released outside of the passenger compartment, and the refrigerant returns to a liquid.

For the system to work optimally, the system must have the proper amount of refrigerant and be free of contaminants.

HOW OFTEN:

Over time, an A/C system begins to lose its charge and become contaminated. If you notice that your vehicle isn’t cooling, visit Jiffy Lube® for A/C evacuation and recharge.

FUEL SYSTEM CLEANING

Let us do the dirty work. Visit Jiffy Lube® for fuel system cleaning where we use multi-step cleaners to remove deposits and residue from your fuel system, injectors and combustion chamber.

WHAT WE DO:

Jiffy Lube® uses multistep cleaners to help remove deposits and residue from your fuel system, injectors and combustion chamber.

HOW IT WORKS:

Every time you press the gas pedal, you control how much fuel and air the engine takes in. Over time, deposits can form in critical areas of the fuel system, which may result in reduced performance and other drivability issues.

HOW OFTEN:

Periodic fuel system cleaning can help maintain optimal engine performance and is performed based upon customer request.

RADIATOR COOLANT FLUID EXCHANGE

Help keep your engine cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Based on your manufacturer’s recommendation and/or test results, Jiffy Lube® removes used engine coolant (also called antifreeze), replaces it with coolant that meets or exceeds your manufacturer specifications and properly disposes of the used fluid.

WHAT WE DO:

Based on your manufacturer’s recommendations and/or test results, Jiffy Lube® removes used engine coolant (also called antifreeze), replaces it with coolant that meets or exceeds your manufacturer’s specifications and properly disposes of the used fluid.

HOW IT WORKS:

A properly functioning engine cooling system circulates coolant through the engine and radiator, helping reduce heat levels, lubricating the water pump and protecting against corrosion. Your vehicle even uses the cooling system to heat the passenger cabin. When your vehicle’s cooling system isn’t functioning properly, the temperature of your engine can get hot enough to potentially damage itself. Having your engine cooling system properly maintained can help optimize the performance and longevity of your engine.

HOW OFTEN:

You should change your coolant according to your vehicle manufacturer’s recommendation and/or test results.

SERPENTINE BELT REPLACEMENT

What connects your vehicle’s power steering, electrical, engine cooling and even air conditioning? The serpentine belt! For this key component, rely on the Jiffy Lube® serpentine belt replacement to help keep your vehicle on the road.

WHAT WE DO:

Jiffy Lube® visually inspects the serpentine belt for fraying, splitting, glazing (the working edge of the belt becomes shiny from age and wear) or any other damage. If necessary, your Jiffy Lube® technicians remove the current serpentine belt and install a new one.

HOW IT WORKS:

The serpentine belt is a single, continuous belt that drives multiple devices in your engine, such as the alternator, power steering pump, water pump and air conditioning compressor. If your serpentine belt breaks, all of these systems will shut down and your vehicle may overheat.

HOW OFTEN:

The serpentine belt should be inspected regularly and replaced based on its condition.

SPARK PLUG REPLACEMENT

Do you remember the last time you changed your spark plugs? The Jiffy Lube® spark plug replacement service, performed according to your manufacturer’s recommendation helps to ensure optimal performance.

WHAT WE DO:

Jiffy Lube® removes and replaces your spark plugs as well as inspects your ignition system based on your vehicle manufacturer’s specifications.

HOW IT WORKS:

The spark plug ignites the air/fuel mixture producing the power that drives your vehicle’s engine. Over time, normal use will degrade spark plug performance, resulting in potential loss of power and fuel economy.

HOW OFTEN:

Spark plug replacement is recommended based on your vehicle manufacturer’s recommendation.
